Archery Whitetail Hunts

Bowhunting in Illinois is arguably the best in the country. With that reputation comes outfitters looking to book as many trips as possible, with little regard for the quality of the hunt. We have some of the best genetics in the state and our deer numbers are outstanding, but we still limit the number of hunters every season so that we can offer the highest quality, low pressure hunts.

We specialize in semi-guided bow hunts, but we do offer a few unguided, or self-guided, packages as well. All of our guides are hardcore bowhunters, are honest and safety-conscious, and know what it takes to improve your chance of success. They share your passion for the sport and take great pride in helping you harvest the buck of your dreams.

Muzzleloader & Shotgun Hunts

Our black powder and shotgun hunts are guided and give you an excellent opportunity to harvest a trophy class whitetail. Lodging and meals are included with this hunt and we will have pre-scouted stands waiting for you.

Our bowhunting is highly successful, so you can imagine how successful our IL muzzleloader deer hunting is. Gun season takes place during the tail end of the rut and we have 3 or 4 day packages available.

Meals & Lodging

We recently acquired a new lodge for you to call home when staying with us. It's clean, comfortable, and serves as the perfect setting to talk about the day's hunt. Our Illinois deer hunting lodge includes 6 bedrooms, full kitchen, 3 1/2 baths, large living room area, and big TV's to catch some football (after you put a big buck on the ground, of course). There is also a 20 yard indoor archery range adjacent to lodge.

All meals and lodging are included in your package price. You will not go hungry and you will be more than comfortable. All the amenities you need to make your trip even better, it's a great addition to our deer camp.

August 24, 2010 - Welcome to the new Backwoods Outfitters website. We have a new look & a new logo, but our trophy whitetail hunts are the same. Just good, solid bowhunting, shotgun, and muzzleloader deer hunts in "The Platinum Pair." The season is fast-approaching and our guides are getting things ready for the opener. There are just a few spots open, so contact us ASAP to book your trip. All packages are semi guided Illinois deer hunts, and include meals, lodging, transportation while here, stands, and expert guides. The 2010 season is looking very good. We are real Illinois deer hunting outfitters and our goal is to meet and exceed your expectations.
